First of I'd like to apologize for not posting anything for awhile. I'm back now!
I know March isn't quite over yet, but I just had to post the coupon savings I have from this month. If you'd like to use a spreadsheet like mine, I downloaded it from Thecouponproject.com. I use the Google docs version so I can get to it from any computer.
March 2011:
Total shelf price: $927.30 (If I bought all the food and other items without coupons or waiting for a sale this is how much it would've cost me!)
Coupons: $416.93 (I counted store coupons in this total as they are technically coupons. Rest assured I never use a store coupon without a manufacturer's coupon unless it's for the house brand.)
Sale discounts: $220.88 (This is the discount from the item I am purchasing when it's on sale. I try to buy as much as I can on sale and with a coupon.)
Total savings: $637.81 (Total of sale discounts and coupons.)
Total out of pocket: $289.49 or a savings of 68.78%!
I spent less out of pocket this month and saved more with coupons. Who says coupons aren't worth clipping? ;)

February Coupon Savings
I must say, I am impressed with my savings in February! I was able to save more with coupons this month than in January despite not having as many doubling days. There must've been better coupons this month!
Total shelf price: $1006.35
Total coupons used: $396.22
Sale discounts: $248.40
Total savings: $656.60
Total out of pocket: $349.75
Savings rate: 65.25%
Rebates owed: $11.98
I am still not close enough to my $200 out of pocket. I should get closer to that goal as my stock pile grows. It's almost there!

January 2011 Savings
I downloaded a spreadsheet called Savings Tracker to make tracking my savings easier. You can get it here and it is available for Google Docs or Excel. I chose Google Docs as I don't have Excel. One of the great things about Google Docs is that you can access it from any computer! You just have to sign in with your user name and password.
I am a numbers person so this Savings Tracker has been really fun for me.
For the month of January:
Shelf price: $906.19
Coupons used: $307.09
Sale Discounts: $206.87
Total Savings: $567.96
Total Spent: $338.23
Savings Rate: 62.68%
The total spent is a little higher than normal but it did include 4 birthdays. It was also higher because Broulim's was doubling coupons on Thursdays in January and I knew I was going to buy more items to stock up at low prices so I adjusted my budget accordingly. Albertson's also had quite a few doublers throughout the month. Who says you can't save a lot of money with coupons?
Thanks again to The Coupon Project for the spreadsheet.

December Savings
December is just about over. I always get sad when December is over. I love Christmas time. This month I spent $245.13 and saved $350.70 or 58%! I am getting closer and closer to my monthly budget goal. This total did include wrapping paper from Hallmark and Christmas candy from Walgreens so I should be a lot closer in January. My 3 month spending total is $815.99 and my savings is $1284.89 or 61% savings. I hope to get the spending total down for 2011. Here's to a new year!

November Savings
I decided to total all my receipts for this month now because I wanted to see where I was. I was over my goal of $200 but I did so much better this month than last. I spent $279.37 and saved $549.31 or 66%! I was able to get so much more with my coupons and sales this month. I know there are 7 more days in the month, but I still have $9 in RR (or Jingle Cash right now) and tons more coupons. If it's not free or nearly free I'm not buying it until next month!

Saving with coupons
I was wondering exactly how much I save in a month using coupons and stacking them with sales so I saved all my receipts from the month of October. Today was the last day of the month so I gathered up all them all up and did the math. I spent a total of $291.49* and saved $384.88 or 57%. I know my savings are much higher but Walmart and Fred Meyer do not put the amount saved on each item at the bottom of the receipt like Albertson's, Smith's and Walgreens do. Not a bad return for a few hours of my time!
*This total includes clothing, stock-up on meat, other food, stock-up on diapers and wipes and other toiletries.
